BAS EMK-Electromagnetic Lifting Magnets is produced with a cast body in different designs according to their lifting capacities in the scrap and casting sectors for the purpose of transporting and stacking ferromagnetic metal materials. It provides many benefits such as loading scraps in different forms that cannot be transported with polyp and feeding ladles from casting pools.
BAS EMK-Electromagnetic Lifting Magnets are progressing for R&D studies in order to work on special requirements, unlike productions made in standard sizes. The high-capacity EMK 2000 H model was designed and produced above standards within the scope of the maritime rescue and metal recovery project, which is a special project in Turkey.
The project goal is to bring back into the economy the type of mineral that will be extracted from the shipwreck area that sank in our country in 2024.
Initially, the analyzes of the samples were examined, and then many physical tests were carried out in the BAS Ankara factory. To ensure complete sealing that special insulated areas under the cast body are supported by a leak-proof socket connecting cables and equipment.
The equipment diameter is 2000 mm above standard dimensions and its own weight is 8 tons, and corrosion-resistant type has been applied. Finally, the BAS quality team gradually carried out leakage tests and other standard controls.
Equipment commissioning was carried out by our BAS field team, and product acceptance was made along with subsea tests. During commissioning, it was observed that the capacity of ship crane PLC systems, including the material’s own weight, was13 tons. Equipment weight +5 tons weight lifting trials have been successfully completed.
With the project achieving its goal, it is concluded that preventing marine pollution is an important factor in increasing waste collection and recycling efficiency. EMKs are used in extracting materials, and also bringing ship scraps in the field.
BAS will continue to contribute to the cleanliness of the seas and the introduction of materials that may harm the environmental ecology into the industrial economy.
